For some clients, that hand-off could come at a time when internal resources are not available or ready, or when a strategic decision to outsource ongoing portal operations and maintenance has been made.
LDS provides Support for Day 2 services to our clients who need temporary or more permanent qualified resources and program management to maintain the design and the integrity of the new portal. In this capacity, we execute the ongoing Operational Governance procedures established for the portal or website, and we elaborate and extend the design of the portal over time as the portal evolves through various iterations and releases. As a result, the design standards are applied and maintained, content remains fresh, current and aligned to the site's design and intended purpose, and the business can continue to expand the use of the portal without the responsibility for hiring and retaining specialized talent.

LDS Support for Day 2 services are provided as a transitional service to help bridge a short-term gap in operational support during production, or as a long-term partnership arrangement for managing the portal or web site as a regular practice. Short- or long-term, these services typically include the
portal program management, user experience design services and design standards compliance, content/asset maintenance, and technical leadership/development resources required to keep the site fresh and relevant, as well as support new foundational or functional releases that are planned and launched as updates over time.
Deliverables
Since every company’s needs in portal operations and maintenance tend to change, we adapt our services to create a unique plan for each client. For short-term Support for Day 2 services, we typically establish a monthly plan for the duration of support required, ensuring a smooth transition to internal or other external resources at its conclusion. For long-term Support for Day 2 services, we establish an annual plan of regular services and staff, provided under a retainer of services agreement, and aligned to the portal’s long-term
Roadmap and Rationalized Release Plan.
